Yamaha G2 Starter Generator

In need of a new starter generator for my 1989 Yamaha G2. Can someone tell me why the Reliance ones are so expensive? Like $350 and then there's the cheaper ones at around $125. I wan't one that is going to work. I've already been down the road with the Mikuni Carbs VS the cheap chinese knock offs! Mikuni seems the only way to go. What's with the starter generators? Where is the best place to buy? I appreicate any and all feedback

I'm not sure if the one on the cart now is OEM or not but have included a picture of it.
