Need help! Wont start to turn over starter/generator. New key switch, starter, starter solenoid and voltage regulator. Also replaced all four micro switches. Its hit/miss on starting, sometimes it takes off and runs great after hitting the gas pedal a few times.
Tried new Battery with same results. You can hear everything clicking and a draw on the electrical system. Hear a hum up front, guessing the backup alarm.
I did find a nick on the white starter wire to the generator from the linking hitting it after it releases the micro switches-I could get 12 volts at that nick point.
Any ideas before I put the flywheel cover back on it, I've been checking all the wires at the Ignition coil and the exciter point...flywheel is still on it.

It runs great when it takes off.

I'm at a loss!
