Cart goes in reverse no matter the direction of the switch.

It is the forward reverse switch or the forward reverse contactor whatever it has. Now if this is a separately excited cart and not a series cart then it could be the controller If The motor runs in One Direction it will run in the other.

    Trouble-Shoot 48v Yamaha G22e won't move

Under no load 3 to 5 Seconds probably no problem, field coils on a separately excited motor use much smaller wire than on a series motor and rated at no more than 20 amps.

No absolutely not! testing a separately excited motor in series could burn out the field coils they must be connected in parallel to test.

Precedent DS Electric 48v questions on an 08 club car

First off that's not a larger motor that is a stock motor for the newer carts it's about a 375 maybe 400 amp motor that controller should have handled that motor just fine

ClubCar Help! - Replacing Controller EV4L48XB2 on ClubCar Model #A9630-512799

Regenerative braking has been around for a while and can be a quite complicated system. All "regen" golf carts use a separately excited (sep-ex) motor. This means that the field winding and the armature winding inside the motor are powered and controlled independently. This allows for much...

Now if you Google Club Car energy displacement module you will get a picture of the solenoid with that coil attached and it is not used for reverse.

ClubCar Help! - Replacing Controller EV4L48XB2 on ClubCar Model #A9630-512799

The second solenoid with the coil is not a reverse solenoid for slower speed it is the regen solenoid. Also the second controller that you quoted is actually the rebuild price for the same controller yes it is but cheaper than new CTD

Yes it is possible you will need a five or six pole double throw switch. It depends on how many wires are in that plug

ClubCar 48v Goes Backward but not Forward

The only I repeat only thing that changes between forward and reverse is a forward reverse switch assembly as long as this is a series cart if it's a late 90s it could be a sepex cart
